In local news the war on grass continues in Southern Nevada. Lucky holdouts will now receive, “for a limited time only,” $5 for each square foot of grass replaced with water-efficient landscaping, and the added incentive of $100 for every new, qualified tree installed in the process still stands. The update communicates that we’ve had a good year, and Lake Mead has been declared stable, but it is not predicted to stay that way, so conservation is still a top priority.

WaterWorld has joined WasteWater Digest and Stormwater Solutions in featuring women in the water industry for Women in History month. I chose these women to show a range of expertise and different places in career growth.

I also wanted to showcase communications professionals. The importance of communicating with customers is recognized by the powers that be indicated by its inclusion within regulations. There is also an expressed understanding of this necessity amongst the professionals being regulated. As Megan McDowell points out in her answer to the question, what do think people might not know about your work, she says we communicators wear many hats. This is incredibly important to understand, respect, and value. I will also note that I personally value a sense of humor, and I think Megan, Megan you are a mermaid.
