BROOMFIELD, CO, Oct. 24, 2014 -- MWH Global, a solutions provider focused on water and natural resources for built infrastructure and the environment, has officially announced the promotion of three employees to senior vice president (VP) and eight others to VP. The promotions were confirmed by the MWH board of directors at its August board meeting.
The three promoted to senior VP include:
- Clayton Bock, senior VP and division director: Bock joined MWH in 2004 and has successfully managed his operational responsibilities since his first assignment as leader of the MWH industrial business unit in Chicago until his most recent assignment as division director, Energy & Industry. Bock has more than 25 years of professional experience and is recognized as an expert in the field of industrial hygiene. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in environmental health and safety. He is currently pursuing a master's in engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Bock is based in Chicago, Ill.
- John Hanula, senior VP and director of global business development: Hanula brings nearly 30 years of experience to MWH, having worked for the company since 2003 as a large-scale campaign manager, and most recently as director of global business development for Government & Infrastructure division. He is a registered architect in 12 states and has served as a board member of the WateReuse Foundation and the California Foundation on the Environment and the Economy (CFEE). He holds a master's in civil engineering as well as a bachelor's in architecture from the University of Tennessee. He was also recently appointed to the Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Advisory Board at the University of Southern California's Viterbi School of Engineering. Hanula is based in Pasadena, Calif.
- Chander Sehgal, senior VP and project manager: Sehgal has nearly 40 years of service with MWH, providing technical leadership and serving as a project manager on numerous energy and industry hydroelectric, dam and tunnel projects. He joined MWH in 1974 as a mechanical, structural and hydraulics engineer specializing in the design of gates, valves, cranes, hoists, and trash-racks, including several unique applications on many of the most important and successful domestic and international projects. Sehgal holds a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from the University of Delhi (India) and a master's in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota. He is also a member of U.S. Society on Dams, American Society of Civil Engineers, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Sehgal is based in Chicago, Ill.
The eight promoted to VP include:
- Carlos Canetta, VP and project manager: Over the course of his 12-year career at MWH, Canetta has demonstrated his technical capability as project manager, as well as his commitment and enthusiastic support of the MWH brand. He spent the last five years as a project controls manager and has become an increasingly valuable member of the MWH project leadership team. In his new role, he is responsible for monitoring project progress against budget and schedule, preparing and justifying payments, progress reporting and coordination of quarterly analyses. Canetta holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Universidad Nacional del Nordeste (Argentina) and a master's in project management from Northwestern University. Canetta is based in Chicago, Ill.
- Vance Drain, VP and project manager: Drain serves as client service manager and project manager, consistently managing more than $5 million in revenue annually. He is an expert for MWH in CERCLA and RCRA investigations and remediation's with more than 30 years of experience, and has been involved with all aspects of the process including remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial designs, and remedial actions. Vance holds a bachelor's in geology from the University of Montana and a master's in earth sciences from Montana State University. Drain is based Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Tania Flasck, VP and senior project manager: Flasck is an 11-year MWH veteran. An environmental scientist with more 20 years of experience, predominantly in the water sector, Flasck's particular expertise is in the project management, startup and commissioning of water and wastewater facilities, and operational management of treatment facilities. She is the senior project manager and commercial leader for the central business unit. Flasck holds a bachelor's in environmental and plant science from the University of Wales College in Cardiff, a master's in crop protection from the University of Bath, and has completed a postgraduate course in environmental quality management from De Montfort University. Flasck is based in Denver, Colo.
- Gavin Gilchrist, VP and business development manager: Gilchrist began his career with MWH 17 years ago in the U.K. Since that time, he has worked in roles of increasing responsibility in both program and marketing/sales areas, serving currently as business development manager. As a marketer, Gilchrist succeeded in securing the largest annual revenue generating program in the Americas region. He works tirelessly to strengthen the reputation of MWH while leveraging the company's technical differentiators to achieve program wins. Gilchrist holds a degree from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. Gilchrist is based in Broomfield, Colo.
- Jenny Hartfelder, VP and senior client services manager: Hartfelder joined MWH in 2007, bringing 24 years of industry experience to the company. Her current responsibilities include serving as senior client services leader, supervising marketing and sales teams in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. She is a civil engineer with background in wastewater design services for municipal clients and environmental remediation. Hartfelder has served MWH in various capacities including design, project management, client analyses, pursuit positioning, proposal development, and interview preparation. She also serves as a member of the board of trustees for the Water Environment Federation (WEF). Hartfelder holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University and a master's in civil engineering from the University of Colorado-Denver. Hartfelder is based in Denver, Colo.
- Robert Krallinger, VP and senior client service manager: Krallinger is a 30-year veteran of the design industry currently serving as client services manager with experience in water and wastewater utility system infrastructure, including transmission and distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, pumping station and treatment plant evaluations and upgrades, and developing utility master plans. He also serves as a senior client service leader and regional manager for the MWH Mid-Atlantic region. He is a professional engineer registered in Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia. Krallinger established the MWH office in Fairfax, Va., in 2013 and has helped it grow to seven employees. Krallinger holds a bachelor's from Pennsylvania State University and a master's from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Krallinger is based Fairfax, Va.
- Carlos Mallol, VP and director of strategy: Mallol brings 34 years of professional experience dedicated to managing large infrastructure projects and programs as client services leader. Most recently, he held a senior leadership role with an 800-employee organization, overseeing infrastructure and facilities projects in the U.S., the Caribbean and Central and South America. He has also managed a heavy construction company focused on large road and water projects across Florida, and provided construction and construction management consulting services for public works programs in excess of $1 billion. Mallol holds a doctorate in business administration from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., as well as a master's in engineering management from the University of Missouri. Mallol also holds a bachelor's in architecture from the National University of La Plata in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a bachelor's in civil engineering from the National Technology University in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a licensed professional engineer in several states and a licensed architect in Argentina. Mallol is based in Miami, Fla.
- David Tomlinson, VP and associate general counsel: Tomlinson has more than 20 years of experience as a civil engineer and as a lawyer specializing in engineering and construction law. He joined MWH in 2011 as an associate general counsel and directs the company's legal strategy. Tomlinson also serves as the corporate secretary for the MWH Board of Directors. He holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Arizona State University and based in Broomfield, Colo.
