TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, March 3, 2015 -- Today, the Water Technology Acceleration Project (WaterTAP) announced that it will begin a formal search for a new chief executive officer (CEO) this month.
WaterTAP's board of directors will establish a search committee and announce its next steps in the coming weeks. In addition to guiding the organization's team, the new CEO will oversee activities that contribute to its mandate: strengthening Ontario's water technology sector.
"The person selected for this role will be responsible for building upon WaterTAP's success, as well as enhancing and implementing the organization's strategic plan to achieve our next stage of growth," said Kenneth A. Morrison, WaterTAP chair.
The search begins as Dr. Brian Mergelas completes his term as WaterTAP's CEO on March 31. Mergelas joined WaterTAP in September 2012, in the organization's early stages of operation.
"The board would like to thank Brian for leading the organization through a successful first few years," said Morrison. "Brian has taken WaterTAP from a concept to a reality, building a strong team that has created value for Ontario's water technology sector. We wish him continued success in his career."
