May 6, 2015 -- Florida-Aquastore, a company serving the water storage and wastewater market across the state of Florida, the Caribbean and Central and South America, has constructed the first of two tanks at Point Lisas in Trinidad, the twin island country off the northern edge of South America.
The company has completed the first of two 204-foot-diameter x 24-foot-tall, 5.5-million-gallon, glass-fused-to-steel tanks with free span aluminum domes, with the other scheduled to be completed in just under two weeks -- a total project time of four months.
These tanks will store highly treated wastewater effluent that will be pumped nearly 40 km from the Beetham Water Recycling Plant, located in Port of Spain, where it will be stored at the Point Lisas Industrial Estate.
Aquastore glass-fused-to-steel tanks were selected due to their quick installation time, competitive price, porcelain enamel coating that doesn't require recoating, and lowest maintenance requirements compared to welded steel tanks being considered.
