MULBERRY, FL, SEPTEMBER 19, 2016 -- About 215 million gallons of radioactive water has been leaked into a massive sinkhole that opened at a fertilizer plant in Mulberry, Fla, threatening the state aquifer. According to abc news, Fertilizer company Mosiac said the sinkhole is about 45-feet wide and 800-feet deep.

The aquifer is the source of drinking water for millions of local residents and empties into springs that Floridians use for recreation.

The fertilizer company says they are taking measures to contain the drainage, and no signs that the contaminated water has made it to local wells have been reported.
