TALLAHASSEE, FL, JULY 6, 2017 -- The City of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, recently approved a contract renewal with CH2M for operations and maintenance services of its water systems, extending a more than 14-year partnership.
CH2M will continue to operate and maintain the City’s 1.5-million-gallon-per-day wastewater treatment plant, six water wells, 40 lift stations and 150 acres of spray fields for the next five years.
“It’s an honor to continue our history of being proactive in communication and operations and maintenance with the City of DeFuniak Springs,” said CH2M OM Services Senior Vice President and Managing Director Steve Meininger. “Our value-driven approach will further the City’s aim to meet the water needs of the growing population.”
Since beginning operations in 2003, CH2M has implemented a number of programs key to yielding a consistent and quality level of service for the City, including employing a preventive maintenance program for the entire water system and establishing chlorine and bacterial sampling points for the water systems. The successful partnership even earned the Northwest Florida League of Cities’ first ever associate member of the year award in 2011.
CH2M provides similar services to several communities across the Sunshine State. CH2M also provides OM services for all public and private utilities in The Villages, encompassing eight water treatment systems, three wastewater treatment plants, collections and distribution systems, meter reading and residential and commercial sanitation services.
