Proco ProFlex Style 730 and 790 Check Valves guard against problems associated with severe storms.
The Solution
Long Branch decided to retrofit its current drainage system, which would allow the city to achieve its objectives without needing to modify much of its current infrastructure. The need for custom applications made it a good fit for Proco. “It was a specialized product that Proco could excel at producing,” said Dave Gillespie, operations manager at Valve Tech Sales.
To provide cost savings, the contractors priced out the Proco ProFlex™ Style 730 and Proco ProFlex™ Style 790 duckbill check valves for the project. The check valves were designed to match the pipe size for each installation, as well as the amount of head pressure associated with the valve.
Results
The finalized design was implemented in 2017, and installation of the project was completed in early 2018. With Long Branch’s upgraded drainage system, each valve allowed its respective location to drain properly under normal circumstances, making the city less susceptible to flow reversals in the future.
