The American Water Works Association's Annual Conference and Exposition, scheduled for June 16-20 in New Orleans, LA, will offer attendees educational sessions covering every aspect of drinking water, networking opportunities, and the largest exhibit of drinking water products and services in the world.
The conference will provide a forum for the discussion of critical security topics, leading-edge strategies to meet new regulatory requirements, and proven tools and technologies for the new challenges faced by the drinking water industry.
The conference is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees and will feature more than 100 technical sessions led by industry experts, 10 special pre-conference workshops for hands-on education, and a variety of technical tours.
State-of-the-art products, services, and technologies from several hundred exhibiting companies, organizations, and consultants will be showcased at the Exposition, considered to be the biggest of its kind in the world. From the basics to the cutting edge of the industry, the exhibition will feature the nation's leading suppliers.
A special reception for conference attendees will be held Sunday in the Exhibit Hall to give attendees an opportunity to network and enjoy refreshments while strolling the aisles.
A highlight of the conference with be the H2Open Forum on water utility security issues. The forum will be held Wednesday, June 19, and will feature a panel of water industry experts and security professionals. They will discuss the daily realities and future possibilities facing utilities. Audience members also will have an opportunity to discuss their experiences on dealing with safety issues.
The Opening General Session, set for 9:30 a.m. June 17, will feature Dr. Janet Lapp, a sought-after speaker on how to develop the skills to thrive while dealing with current and future change. AWWA's new officers also will be introduced.
