Severn Trent Services has been awarded contracts with the City of Flagstaff, AZ, to supply ultraviolet disinfection and chlorine disinfection equipment for the Lake Mary Water Treatment Plant Filter and Disinfection Improvements Project. With a treatment capacity of 8 million gallons per day, the Lake Mary Water Treatment Plant provides the 60,000 Flagstaff residents greater protection from disease-causing bacteria that may be present in the drinking water.

To achieve a multiple barrier treatment approach, the city will use Severn Trent's FrontLine medium pressure UV disinfection system coupled with traditional chlorine disinfection. The company has already shipped the system and is scheduled to assist with the installation over the next two months. Severn Trent's Capital Controls chlorination equipment, which will be installed by the city during later stages of construction, includes two vacuum regulators, four automatic chlorination cabinets, four ejectors, and three gas detectors.
