BIG BEAR CITY, CA, Sept. 12, 2005 -- The Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency (BBARWA) has received strong support from regional, statewide and national organizations for their Groundwater Recharge project. The executive boards of the Southern California Association of Publicly Owned Treatment Works, California Association of Sanitation Agencies and the WateReuse Association have all endorsed BBARWA's proposed project and urge support for their efforts.
"The support of these organizations is important because they are professionals who thoroughly understand water supply issues and the technologies involved," stated BBARWA General Manager Steve Schindler. "With strong, informed advocates like these, and the continued support of the majority of local residents, this community can make a secure water supply a reality through the Groundwater Recharge and Recycled Water project."
"California's most vital resource is water. Creating a high-quality water supply to replenish Big Bear's groundwater supply is setting a good example for communities throughout the state," wrote CASA Executive Director Michael F. Dillon.

BBARWA was established in 1974 to transport, treat and dispose of wastewater for the Big Bear Valley area residents and businesses. BBARWA is conducting studies to expand its recycled water program and to develop a new groundwater recharge system.
