OAKVILLE, Ontario, October 9, 2002 -- ZENON Environmental Inc. was recognized as Canada's top Exporter of the Year at a special gala dinner held in Vancouver Oct. 8.
International Trade Minister Pierre Pettigrew presented the prestigious award to ZENON noting that the company is an excellent example of Canada's creativity and innovation on the international scene.

Since 1980, the company has grown to employ nearly 800 people worldwide, selling mainly to the U.S. and Western European markets. In the last three years, ZENON has penetrated emerging markets in Eastern Europe, Australia and Asia, achieving significant revenue growth from $99 million in 1999 to $125 million in 2001.
The Canada Export Awards recognize excellence in the achievements and success of Canadian companies that export their products and services to markets around the world. The award is presented annually by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
