ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., May 9, 2002 -- The SI Group, a national environmental consulting firm is pleased to announce the acquisition of Southeast Utilities, Inc. Terms of the all-cash deal were not disclosed.
Southeast Utilities is an Orlando Florida-based wastewater and drinking water operations company. Southeast Utilities operates more than 80 wastewater and drinking water plants throughout Florida. The acquisition of Southeast Utilities increases The SI Group's total wastewater and drinking water operations to more than 125 plants in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Florida.
The SI Group is a minority-owned environmental consulting group that provides nationwide services to a real estate, telecommunication, insurance, and industrial client base. Based in Arlington Heights, Illinois, The SI Group has offices in Orlando and Tampa, Florida; Huntsville, Alabama; and Portage, Indiana.
Most recently, The SI Group has provided environmental due diligence, construction management, and remediation services for privitization of military housing at several Army and Navy installations.
