Jan. 10, 2003 -- The George E. Failing Co. (GEFCO) announced that it has received an order for twenty-six water well drilling rigs and related equipment from the government of the Dominican Republic.
The twenty-six customized portable drilling rigs will be mounted on Kenworth trucks and are included in a $70 million infrastructure development equipment order. This order includes equipment manufactured by Caterpillar and Paccar, the parent company of Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks.
The drilling rigs will be used to develop potable water systems throughout the Dominican Republic. The government of the Dominican Republic received financing guarantees from The Export-Import Bank of the United States.
