The US company Advantica won a water distribution contract with the city of Tempe, Arizona, for a three-phase assignment including model building customer data file update; seasonal model calibrations and fluoride tracer study; and system and data integration consultation.

The municipality's water operation division is responsible for the maintenance and of 800+ miles of water lines.

During the first phase, Advantica will work with the City of Tempe to update and convert existing GIS and customer base information into a comprehensive model to be used with Advantica's SynerGEE® Water product. Phase two proposes the simultaneous calibration of the Tempe system during a three- to five-day period in the summer months, and two separate calibration exercises during winter to target designated operating plants. A fluoride tracer study will also be conducted to validate the hydraulic calibration studies.
