PITTSBURGH, Dec. 19, 2002 -- Underground Solutions Inc. announced Thursday that the company's Duraliner Water Line Replacement System has been selected to replace approximately 2000 lf of deteriorated 12" water main in the Town of Takoma Park, Maryland for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.
Bids for the proposed work were opened on December 10th and the successful bidder was J. Fleatcher Creamer & Son, Inc. with a bid of $394,700. Upon formal acceptance by the Commission, work on the project should begin in the spring of 2003.
Duraliner is a unique patented process for pipeline renewal resulting in a "stand alone" structural lining capable of handling internal minimum operating pressures of 150 psi with a 3.2 safety factor.
Duraliner conforms to NSF 61 Standards for Drinking Water Components/Health Effects. In addition, Duraliner provides an equivalent design-life of new PVC pipelines (75 years) thus qualifying the rehabilitated pipelines to be capitalized as new assets under the rules of GASB Statement 34.
