SACRAMENTO, CA, April 12, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Daniel Weintraub, political columnist for the Sacramento Bee, will join California State Controller Steve Westly, Sen. Mike Machado (D-Linden), Assembly member Lois Wolk (D-Davis), and Roger Marzulla, of Marzulla and Marzulla, as a confirmed speaker for the 2005 Association of California Water Agencies' Spring Conference & Exposition, May 3-6, at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center.
The ACWA Spring Conference & Exposition, themed "California's Water Blueprint: Charting Our Course," is expected to draw more than 2,000 local water officials as well as state and federal water leaders. The event will be held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center and San Jose Marriott.
The conference will feature the unveiling of ACWA's "Blueprint for California's Water Future," host numerous speakers, and facilitate discussions about diverse water-related subjects. These include the debate over the future of Hetch Hetchy -- moderated by San Jose Mercury News Editorial Page Editor Phil Yost, the funding of future water infrastructure, flood control, groundwater management, urban and agricultural water use efficiency, and potential new water user fees to fund the CALFED Bay-Delta Program.
