COSTA MESA, Calif., July 23, 2002 -- The Keith Companies Inc., an engineering and consulting services firm, announced recently that its Tettemer & Associates division has been awarded a subsequent contract by the Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA), valued at $1.8 million, to provide professional engineering services for Final Design of Improvements to the Storm Water and Imported Water Recharge Facilities located in the Chino Basin in San Bernardino County, CA.
Tettemer partnered with The Keith Companies' ESII division to win this contract for the continuation phase of the project, which follows the $640,000 preliminary engineering phase contract awarded to Tettemer in November 2001. The project is an integral part of the Chino Basin Optimum Basin Management Plan to provide water resources for the area.
The continuation phase of the project includes geotechnical investigation, final engineering design and construction support services for the improvements of 16 recharge basin facilities to increase ground water recharge within the Chino Basin.
Tettemer will provide civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering and engineering support services during the construction of the project. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system design will be provided through the company's ESII division. Additionally, San Francisco-based URS Corporation, a subconsultant to Tettemer & Associates, will provide geotechnical engineering services for this project.
The company's CEO, Aram H. Keith stated, "The successes of our Tettemer & Associates and ESII divisions in the cooperative securing and performance on this contract is especially gratifying as it indicates that our internal diversity continues to be of benefit. It is also indicative of how projects that are performed well in our sector will many times end up leading to significant additional work. Infrastructure projects of this nature continue to grow in importance within our organization as our capabilities expand and as water issues become more important throughout the U.S."
