• Documenting Stormwater Needs
Tuesday, Oct. 23 (1-3 EDT)
Oct. 16, 2007 -- Does your community have capital needs ($) for stormwater infrastructure? Let Congress know about the challenges you face in implementing your stormwater program.
This webcast will describe how to get local stormwater capital needs incorporated into the 2008 Clean Watersheds Needs Survey (CWNS). The Needs Survey is the basis for a detailed Report to Congress on the nation's water infrastructure needs. This Report is widely read and referred to in Congress and is used in funding and policy deliberations. In addition, the information in this Report is frequently used by state and local decision makers. Although stormwater has been a category in the Needs Survey for some time, very few communities have reported their stormwater infrastructure needs.
We know that cities, towns, and counties are facing substantial capital costs for stormwater infrastructure in the coming years. The 2008 Needs Survey is a way to document those needs for decision makers at all levels of government. This webcast will provide information on the Needs Survey, how to document your capital needs, and how to get them counted in the 2008 Survey. Join us to learn more about participating in this important effort.
