RUGBY, UK, July 12, 2007 -- Morgan Sindall's infrastructure services provider Morgan Est has secured a framework agreement with South East Water to carry out maintenance, metering and main laying activities in East and West Sussex and west Kent worth £50 million over the next five years.
Morgan Est will work alongside a team of South East Water engineers from their base in Uckfield to repair water main bursts, install water meters, replace water mains and install new water pipes.
"We are delighted to have secured this contract and we look forward to working with the South East Water team," says Mark Cutler, Morgan Est managing director. "This award is in line with our strategy to become the leading provider of water services in the UK and enhances our position as a principal sector contractor in the South East. It follows two other major water wins for Morgan Est this year with Severn Trent Water and Thames Water and spreads our water capabilities and skills to a truly national level."
Work begins in August 2007 and is due to complete in August 2012. There is a possibility the framework will be extended for a further five years.
Morgan Est is a leading provider of infrastructure services operating in the UK tunneling, civil engineering, water, utilities and rail sectors. It is part of Morgan Sindall plc, the construction and regeneration group. The Group operates through four specialist divisions: fit out, construction, infrastructure services and affordable housing.
