Crompton, Great Lakes Chemical to change name after merger
MIDDLEBURY, CT, & INDIANAPOLIS, May 9, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Once their merger is complete, the company created by the Crompton Corp. and Great Lakes Chemical Corp. combination will be known as "Chemtura" (pronounced chem-CHOOR-a) Corporation. Great Lakes announced April 29 that the required waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 expired. This satisfies U.S. premerger notification requirements for the proposed merger between Great Lakes and Crompton Corporation.
