Sweden delegates share experiences in combating pollution

The Swedish Environmental Delegation to the Slovak Republic is hosting a seminar for April 3-5 for the exchange of environmental information.

Bratislava, Sweden, April 2, 2002 -- The Swedish Environmental Delegation to the Slovak Republic is hosting a seminar for April 3-5 for the exchange of environmental information.

In connection with the state visit of His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, the seminar at the SAS Radisson Carlton Hotel in Bratislava is focusing on control of environmental pollution for air, water, wastewater and waste management.

The event is designed to allow the Swedish environmental delegation to share technical information with the Slovak Republic. The aim is to promote stronger cooperation between Swedish and Slovakian companies, municipalities and public authorities as well as discussing Swedish companies' involvement in development projects connected to Slovakia's future membership in the European Union.

The Swedish Trade Council through The Swedish Environmental Technology Network has organized the seminar in close cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Consulate in Slovakia.

On April 3, The Swedish Environmental Technology Network has arranged a bilateral seminar where Swedish companies will share their experience with Slovakian colleagues and decision makers.

The delegation includes prominent Swedish Environmental Technology companies within air pollution control, water and wastewater treatment and waste management. The Slovakian minister of Environment Mr Laszlo Mikos will open the Seminar and it will be chaired by Mr Ulf Dinkelspiel, ambassador and CEO of the Swedish Trade Council assisted by Eng. Milan Matuska, Director General, Division of Environmental Matters, Ministry of Environment.

His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden will participate in the closing ceremony of the seminar and will be presented with a summary and conclusions from the seminar.

The seminar will cover subjects such as Forestry Industry and the Environment, Water- and Waste Water Management and treatment plants, Design Supply and Upgrading (presented by companies including Sodra, ITT Flygt, VA-Projekt, Malmberg Water, Munters, Alfa Ror and AF-IPK), Air Pollution Control and Air Quality Assessment, Efficient Waste Collection (presented by Centralsug), and Efficient Exhaust Gas Management in connection with waste incineration and coal energy plants (presented by IVL, ALSTOM and OPSIS).

One session of the seminar also will cover the aspects of financing environmental technology projects (presented by Zilina/PKB and EU-representative).

Successes and experiences we want to share with our Slovakian friends at the seminar in Bratislava", says Mr Rutger Engsall, Senior Vice President at the Swedish Trade Council and head of the Swedish Environmental Technology Network.
