Westford, MA, Dec. 8, 2003 -- ENSR International is celebrating its 35th anniversary of providing clients cost-effective environmental consulting, engineering, and remediation.
ENSR was founded in 1968 by two renowned U.S. scientists looking to help companies comply with the Clean Air Act (CAA; then still in draft form). Over the next two years, the first Earth Day was held, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) was established, and the nation's foundation of environmental legislation was laid: NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act), the Clean Air Act, and the Clean Water Act.
Expanding its mission to serve client needs, ENSR today works with major industrial companies and regulated government agencies worldwide to solve their environmental, health, and safety problems and to implement cost-saving management approaches.
Globally, ENSR employs 1,200 professionals in over 60 technical disciplines and serves clients from 45 U.S. and 25 international client service centers, including Canada, Latin America (Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela), Europe (U.K., Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, Turkey, Azerbaijan) and Asia (Malaysia, China, Japan, Philippines, Thailand). To date, ENSR has completed more than 60,000 environmental projects in 100 countries.
A hallmark of ENSR's service is its ongoing commitment to provide timely, valuable regulatory updates and strategies as a professional courtesy to its valued clients. The ENSR Insight newsletter, published quarterly, has supported this mission for over 20 years. The regulated community may subscribe to the newsletter at: http://www.ensr.com/newsroom/subscription.
ENSR professionals also continually author regulatory guidance and strategies, as well as technical papers. Over 50,000 copies of ENSR's RCRA, Superfund, and CAA handbooks have been distributed to clients. A listing of current titles is available at: http://www.ensr.com/newsroom/Regulatory_Updates_Strategies.htm for updates and strategies and http://www.ensr.com/newsroom/Technical_Papers.htm for technical papers.
ENSR shares its December 2 birthday with the USEPA, established in 1970 to solve the nation's urgent environmental problems and to protect human health. "A Brief History of ENSR" is available at http://www.ensr.com/about/history.
