NH DES accepting grant applications to protect critical water supply lands

CONCORD, NH, Oct. 2, 2008 -- The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Water Supply Land Grant Program is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2008 competitive grant round.

Municipalities and non-profit water suppliers may apply for a 25 percent matching grant for the purchase of land or conservation easements critical to the quality of their public drinking water supply.

Eligibility applications are due November 3, 2008. DES will notify eligible applicants by December 3, 2008 and final applications will be due January 15, 2009. Projects will then be ranked and applicants will be notified if they have been selected for funding. Grants will be awarded based on priority ranking and availability of funding.
