• WEF announces its 2008-2009 Board of Trustees
ALEXANDRIA, VA, Oct. 27, 2008 -- The Water Environment Federation (WEF) has announced the members of its 2008-2009 Board of Trustees. Consisting of six officers and twelve board members, the individuals were confirmed by WEF's House of Delegates during WEFTEC®.08 -- WEF's 81st annual technical exhibition and conference -- at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill.
During a ceremony on October 21, the WEF "gavel of leadership" was passed from President Adam Zabinski to incoming President, Rebecca West, Director of Technical Services for the Spartanburg Sanitary Sewer District in Spartanburg, S.C.
In addition to President West and Immediate Past President Zabinski, the remaining 2008-2009 officers include: President-Elect Paul Freedman, Founder and President of Limno-Tech in Ann Arbor, Mich.; Vice President Jeannette Brown, Executive Director for the Stamford Water Pollution Control Authority in Stamford, Conn.; Treasurer Charles Weir, Senior Project Manager for Oakley Water Strategies in Oakland, Calif.; and WEF Executive Director Bill Bertera who serves an indefinite term as Secretary.
