CH2M HILL employee receives EPA award
ATLANTA, GA -- Robert Thomas was one of five team members awarded a 2007 Level I Scientific and Technological Achievement Award (STAA) by the U.S. EPA for their collaborative research and co-authorship of a research paper entitled, "Groundwater N Speciation and Redox Control of Organic N Mineralization by O2 Reduction to H2O2."

Prior to joining CH2M HILL, Dr. Thomas was a Federal Post Doctorial Associate at EPA's Ecosystem Research Division in Athens, GA, where he coordinated the lab and field nutrients research program. His main research focus was on the fate and transport of nitrogen compounds in natural systems.

The Level I award is the highest STAA given to researchers who have accomplished an exceptionally high-quality research or technological effort, and is among the most prestigious of EPA scientific award programs. Dr. Thomas is a geochemist with CH2M HILL in its Atlanta office.
