Second article from Ellicott, MD, based agency focuses on 'Using Local Watershed Plans to Protect Wetlands,' a topic more noteworthy after last summer's increased damage in New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina due to wetlands losses in recent decades...

ELLICOTT CITY, MD, June 22, 2006 -- The most recent article -- "Using Local Watershed Plans to Protect Wetlands" -- is now available for free download. This article is Article 2 in the Wetlands & Watersheds Series from the Center for Watershed Protection (CWP). It briefly describes a proposed framework for integrating wetland management in the context of local watershed planning efforts.

The article outlines:
• The rationale for managing wetlands at the watershed scale,
