• 2006 Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards winners announced -- OTTAWA, Canada, Oct. 27, 2006 -- The winners of the 2006 Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards were announced at a gala celebration at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa last night. • Gov. Rendell announces $74 million to help protect Pennsylvania's waterways, public health, romote community revitalization efforts -- HARRISBURG, PA, Oct. 24, 2006 -- Gov. Edward G. Rendell today said communities will continue to be revitalized and water resources will become cleaner with the $74 million investment made by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority, or PENNVEST. Most of the money awarded today, $70 million, is in the form of low-interest loans. The rest of the money, grants, will fund 19 clean water projects in 13 counties. The awards approved by PENNVEST range from a $1 million loan to upgrade the existing sewage treatment plant for a community in Erie County to a more than $9.3 million loan to construct almost 17 miles of sewage collection lines for a community in Luzerne County...

• NEORSD reports aquatic life gains in Cleveland -- CLEVELAND, Oct. 18, 2006 -- Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District announces improvements benefiting the aquatic life and Greater Cleveland due to three tests conducted by NEORSD's Water Quality and Industrial Surveillance (WQIS) Environmental Assessment personnel, both upstream and downstream of the Cuyahoga River.
