Tablet chlorination system

PPG's Accu-Tab System consists of 3-inch calcium hypochlorite tablets with 65 percent available chlorine that are used in patented erosion chlorinators. The chlorinators have no moving parts and no small openings to clog -- eliminating the need for metering pumps. A portion of the process water, whether potable or wastewater, is diverted through the chlorinator. The water flow erodes the tablet, with the amount of chlorination being controlled by the inlet water flow. The chlorinated water then is returned and mixed in with the process stream. This system is an alternative to chlorine gas cylinders and sodium hypochlorite (liquid bleach) for sanitizing water systems. It is as accurate as gas, more consistent than bleach and easier to maintain than both.

Self-priming pumps

The Gorman-Rupp Company has introduced the Super T-Seriestrademark of self-priming centrifugal pumps. Based on the respected T series solids-handling trash pumps, the new Super T series is designed to double impeller and wearplate life. The external adjustment of the shimless wearplate is as simple as a turn of the hand, with no need to realign belts, couplings and other drive components. Easy maintenance of the clearance between the impeller and wearplate decreases downtime and keeps the pump operating at maximum efficiency.

Biofilter media

Biosorbenstrademark, a synthetic biofilter media from Biorem Technologies, consists of strong, inert, hydrophilic cores that are uniform in shape and don't readily compact. The hydrophilic cores are produced with nutrient rich organic and inorganic absorbents. These characteristics decrease residence time and increase the serviceable life to more than 10 years. Drive transporter/stand

Ridge Tool has introduced its new 300 Wheel-A-Way drive transportation system that quickly converts into a stand for the Model 300 Power Drive. The transporter converts to a stand by simply positioning the front legs, releasing its gas spring-assisted folding leg, and raising the unit to the operating position. The unit also features a method for capturing the foot switch, which lessens power cord wear.

pH/ORP electrodes

Sensorex offers pH/ORP electrodes made from a one-piece epoxy body that extends over the pH sensitive glass bulb to protect the bulb from accidental breakage. The electrode provides a response time of 95% in less than one second from pH 0-14. Both pH and ORP models have sealed, gel-filled Ag/AgCI references that never need refilling and are rated to 100 psig and up to 100 degrees C. The ORP electrode features a glass-sealed platinum sensing element. The standard size combination electrode, model S200C for pH and S500C for ORP, are 1/2" in diameter and 6" in length.

Datalogger

Levelogger is a datalogger, pressure transducer, temperature sensor, conductivity sensor and battery, all factory sealed in one 7/8" diameter probe. Infra-red data transfer eliminates the need for electrical or vented cable, although a direct read cable is available. Internal battery life is 8 to 10 years. The unit is not affected by electromagnetic interference from pumps or lightning. Recording intervals can be chosen from 0.5 seconds to 99 hours, or logarithmic, or event based options, with a direct start or a future start time.

Pipeline strainer

The Model 30R pipeline strainer from Hayward Industrial Products removes dirt and debris from pipeline flows. The stainless steel strainer basket inside the cast iron strainer body traps unwanted particulate matter, which potentially could damage piping system components such as pumps, flow meters and valves. The model 30R incorporates several features found on higher cost pipeline strainers including a special clamp-type cover that can be removed without tools. Each unit comes equipped with a drain plug.
