Victaulic, a flow control and mechanical pipe joining company, has acquired Utah-based Horizon Metals Inc.
Horizon Metals Inc. is a family-owned and operated iron and steel foundry located in Nephi, Utah. It was established in 1992 by Wayne Fish. In 1997, Horizon Metals Inc. moved from Salt Lake City, Utah, to Nephi, Utah, where it is located today.
The acquisitions occurred on March 30, 2023.
Victaulic says that the acquisition supports the company’s growth in the infrastructure and waterworks market by increasing capacity for large-diameter piping solutions and is aligned with the strategy to manufacture these products in the United States.
With this acquisition, Victaulic has added over 1.4 million square feet of foundry and manufacturing capacity in North America since 2011.
“A major aspect of Victaulic’s business strategy has always been to manufacture products in close proximity to our customers,” said Rick Bucher, President and Chief Executive Officer of Victaulic. “With this purchase, Horizon Metals represents Victaulic’s fifth foundry in North America and our fourth foundry located in the United States. We are thrilled to welcome the employees from Horizon Metals into the Victaulic family.”
