NACWA honors Environmental Achievement Award winners

Feb. 3, 2022
The program recognizes both the individuals and the NACWA-member utilities that have made outstanding contributions to environmental protection, their communities, ratepayers, and the water sector.

The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) has announced the winners of its 2022 National Environmental Achievement Awards (NEAA).

NACWA honored the winners during its Winter Conference on Feb. 1, held at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Ariz. The NEAA Program recognizes both the individuals and the NACWA-member public clean water utilities that have made outstanding contributions to environmental protection, their communities, ratepayers, and the water sector. NACWA is the only organization to offer national awards of this type to the municipal clean water sector.

The awards are presented to category winners for Distinguished Service, Environment, Local Public Service, Operations & Environmental Performance, Public Information & Education, Public Service, Research & Technology, Special Recognition, Utility Leadership, Watershed Collaboration, and Workforce Development.

“Despite the many challenges and setbacks that we faced as a nation and a global community over the last two years, these NACWA member public utilities have been able to deliver consistent and reliable clean water services,” said Adam Krantz, CEO of NACWA. “The herculean efforts by the staff and leadership of the over 300 utilities that comprise NACWA’s membership cannot be overstated, particularly their work as front line environmental first responders. America’s public clean water utilities held steadfast in their commitment to serve and inspire their communities throughout the course of the pandemic.
