The HDR consulting firm can help with the technical and political challenges communities face as they evaluate their choices for water filtration. Water filtration systems may be as easy to operate as the slow-sand filters used by many small communities, or as technically and politically challenging as the low-pressure membranes increasingly adopted as they become more economical for large-scale use. The company can help with evaluating, planning, procuring, testing and educating decision makers on all the steps to successful implementation of this technology.

Floran Technologies has introduced its Media Master for filter media maintenance and rehabilitation. Over time, scale and biological deposits accumulate on filter media. These deposits can cause a decline in filter performance such as shorter run times and increased turbidity, leading to costly removal and replacement procedures.

The latest development in Cloth Media Filtration from Aqua Aerobic Systems is a patented pile cloth media (PA-13) that consists of nylon fibers arranged in a pile construction on a polyester backing material. Pile Cloth media is designed for the AquaDisk® Filter and is used exclusively for filtering municipal and industrial wastewaters. This new media is an addition to cloth media already available for the AquaDisk® Filter. The new media reduces the cleaning energy required for tertiary filtration, resulting in less backwash water volume without compromising filtration performance.
