Check valve
Larox Flowsys has introduced the WaStop, a versatile rubber membrane Check Valve that can be used in the majority of pipe systems, both vertical and horizontal applications, to stop reverse flow. It’s easy to install and is tested and approved for up to 15.47 feet of backpressure. Flow in the check valve release direction causes a pressure build-up against the membrane causing the membrane to open just enough to allow the liquid to flow unhindered.

Motor management
The TeSys® T motor management system from Schneider Electric combines primary motor protection requirements with additional functionality including recording of motor history, statistics and time-stamped faults to help users analyze the system and anticipate future performance. The system guards against motor malfunctions and helps avoid nuisance trips, reduces downtime, and lowers maintenance costs. Perchlorate removal
The Water Quality Association recently certified Purolite’s A532E perchlorate selective resin under the NSF/ANSI 61 Standard for use in drinking water. The resin allows for long run lengths meaning less frequent change outs, a reduction in waste disposal costs, less downtime and lower treatment costs. In addition to perchlorate, it will also remove other oxy-anions such as pertechnetate and can be retrofitted into existing plants currently using alternative media, allowing this technology to be adopted quickly throughout the water treatment industry.

Chlorine monitoring
Extech Instruments now offers a new offset adjustment feature for its ExStik® Total Residual Chlorine Meter, Model CL200. The reading in ppm can now be adjusted to match the value of a known standard or to agree with previously established references. The device monitors total chlorine residual which includes free chlorine and/or chlorine bound to nitrogenous compounds, (chloramines). It provides a direct reading of total chlorine from 0.01 to 10.00 ppm and eliminates the need to store and transport a sample solution back to the lab for analysis.

Ion exchange resin

Check valve
The Curved Bill Tideflex® TF-1 Check Valve is designed to enhance sealing, especially in low-lying areas with little backpressure. The valve is constructed entirely of rubber, making it virtually immune to rust, corrosion and weathering. The curved bill of the valve seals without backpressure, allowing for a tighter seal that eliminates gapping issues. The flexible bill also seals around entrapped debris. PLC systems
Revere Control Systems has begun performing upgrades of discontinued SY/MAX® PLC systems to its replacement, the Quantum™ platform. The upgrade, which requires approximately a two-week turnaround from point of powering down the old system to powering up the new system, involves a combination of hardware, HMI screens, PLC programming, and proprietary cable-connector combinations. An additional 6 to 8 weeks of off-site time are required ahead of the on-site conversion for the drawing reviews, PLC program conversion, parts procurement, fabrication, and testing.
