DO Controller Offers “Plug and Play” Installation

Wastewater treatment facilities that require reliable monitoring of dissolved oxygen (DO) for aeration, activated sludge, and nutrient removal control now can optimize those processes - and their equipment investment - with the new sc100TM Controller from Hach Company. With it, process managers can choose to use the new Hach LDO® Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Probe, which uses luminescent technology and eliminates the typical drawbacks of membrane components; a Hach membrane-methodology DO probe; or both, as conditions and requirements dictate.

The sc100 Controller accepts up to two digital sensors which connect with a simple “plug and play” installation. Processes can mix or match digital DO probes, or any combination of two Hach digital sensors, to best target measurement at aeration tanks, nitrification and denitrification tanks, anaerobic digesters, aerobic digesters, and treatment discharge.

The LDO technology is a Hach-developed technique that relies on luminescence of a unique sensor-lining material. It uses a sensor coated with a luminescent material. The time elapsed between exposure of the sensor to an internal blue LED and detection of the material’s red excitation emission correlates to the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the water sample.
