A theme that visitors will find woven throughout the new website is that of “Tell Us Your Story.” The new website is a reflection of DSC’s commitment to furthering education and training about dredges and dredging for dredge owners and their crews, and also for the general advancement of the industry. New features to the site include added functionality; improved navigation; and product pages with literature, a parts express page, dredge stories, news and careers.

Sauereisen has launched its new website, providing a wide range of user enhancements, including a responsive design that enables easy viewing and navigation from mobile devices. The website now includes the ability to search by keyword. Additional features include a language translator to view all pages in 12 languages, easy access to view and print all product data sheets and safety data sheets, and interactive domestic and international maps to locate Sauereisen sales network contacts.

The American Public Works Association and seven key water associations, in collaboration with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, recently released the Effective Utility Management Report at the National Water Policy Forum in Washington, D.C. The report, titled “Taking the Next Step: Findings of the Effective Utility Management Review Steering Group,” identifies refinements to the EUM framework, which includes ten attributes, or “building blocks,” of effectively managed water sector utilities and five keys to management success.

Anatum Field Solutions, a GNSS equipment rental company, has published the results of an extensive evaluation of Bluetooth sub-meter GNSS receivers it conducted in February/March 2016. The evaluation was conducted on a GNSS test course in Tigard, Ore., with 13 Reference Points (RP) established in open sky, light tree canopy, moderate tree canopy, and heavy tree canopy using an optical instrument operated by a land surveyor and referenced to NAD83/2011 datum with ITRF08 coordinates computed as well. The evaluation was focused on the performance of Bluetooth GNSS receivers rated at or near sub-meter precision by its manufacturer, and focused on performance in difficult conditions, namely light/moderate/heavy tree canopy. Each receiver was run through the test course four times.

American Water has published a new white paper, titled “Working with Customers to Reduce Water Usage During California Drought.” In order to meet state mandates, California American Water implemented an aggressive drought communications plan to encourage its customers to reduce water use during the drought by helping them understand how they use water and where they can reduce water use.
