The CA6 Colorimetric Analyzer from Electro-Chemical Devices provides accurate and reliable measurement of manganese or iron levels in municipal drinking water production. A sequence of sampling, analysis and results processing is performed and repeated using colorimetric methods, using an LED light source and a heated colorimetric cell designed for measuring trace amounts of manganese, iron and other analytes in water. The CA6 Colorimetric Iron Analyzer also is available in three ranges: 0-0.1 mg/L, 0-1.0 mg/L and 0-5.0 mg/L. Weighing less than 40 pounds, it can be wall mounted or simply set on a bench using the optional bench top stand.

SIGMA’s One-Lok Series SLDE wedge action restrainer gland for 54-, 60-, and 64-inch ductile iron pipes can serve as a way to re-round large diameter pipes in the field. Larger ductile iron pipes are susceptible to shift in transit and handling, often requiring the use of hydraulic jacks on job sites to restore full roundness and specificity prior to installation. SIGMA’s introduction of these three sizes to the market will minimize this costly and cumbersome step. The product provides additional areas to the gland body that contain two sets of three jacking bolts positioned 180 degrees apart. These serve to compress the exterior wall of the pipe and restore its round shape. Unlike the hydraulic jack, which operates on the interior of the pipe and can impact the integrity of the lining, the SIGMA One-Lok re-rounding feature functions solely on the exterior wall.

The new ally™ water meter from Sensus is an integrated three-state valve that enables utilities to remotely turn on water for a new account, turn it off in the event of a leak or reduce the flow. The reduced flow option helps utilities manage high maintenance accounts, write-offs for bad debt and collections. The ally meter’s alarms can also alert utilities when there are empty pipes, reverse flow, leaks and tampering. In addition, the ally meter contains sensors for monitoring pressure at the service connection.
