Aeration system
The MTS Jet Aeration Systems are available with a flushout system, eliminating the costly requirement of basin drainage or aerator retrieval throughout the expected service life. Flushouts are used to unclog plugged aeration nozzles. The principle of operation is similar to that of an airlift pump and results in a powerful reverse flow through the jets, exiting a riser pipe attached to the liquid manifold. A typical flushout operation takes only five minutes and one person to perform it.

Network box
In-Situ has introduced the Quad-Box, a network communications box for use with the miniTROLL line of intelligent probes. The box adds a number of degrees of functionality to a network setup, while actually decreasing the cost in many cases. The box allows up to four miniTROLL .72 in. diameter smart probes to be connected to one central node in a network chain of as many as 32 connections. In this scenario, the cost of networking is driven down by eliminating the need for separate T-Boxes on each probe, as well as eliminating the ancillary networking cable. The Quad Box also was designed to help with lightning suppression.

Speed reducers
TRANSCYKORegistered provides wide range speed reducers in combinations of sizes, ratios, input power, mountings and configurations to meet speed reduction system requirements. High reduction ratios of 6:1 through 119:1 per stage through 7569:1 double and triple reductions are available. Input horsepower ranges from 1/16 to over 200 HP and output torque exceeds 6,000 Kg-m (500,000 in. lbs.). The company offers a wide variety of horizontal and vertical mounts with various IEC/NEMA input adaptors for maximum installation ease. The cycloidal design offers advantages over conventional gear tooth design. Many cycloidal teeth share the load and transmit torque by rolling from one element to another. This design eliminates sliding friction and creates a vibration-free operation.

Signal conditioner
Omega's Model FLSC90-A fiber-optic signal conditioner has been designed to interface directly with the company's FP-9000 and FP-9000A series Lightspeedtrademark paddlewheel flow sensors. The FLSC90-A provides a high intensity light source to the patented paddlewheel sensor through a semi-flexible duplex fiber-optic cable. Returning light pulses are measured and converted by the signal conditioner's electronics to a scalable analog output that is proportional to the flowrate. The ability of the paddlewheel flow sensor to operate in harsh and heavy electrical noise environments via the fiber optic cable link makes this system ideal for such applications. The industry standard 4-20 mA or 1-5 vDC analog output can connect directly to many of Omega's process meters, controllers, dataloggers or data acquisition systems.

Design software
Hydromantis has released software named CapdetWorks for the design and costing of wastewater treatment plants. The software is a planning level design and costing tool that allows the user to drag-and-drop unit processes to build a wastewater treatment plant schematic, automatically calculate a design and then estimate the cost to build, operate and maintain the facility. At the planning level, current engineering practices primarily use empirical modeling techniques in combination with cost databases.
