Aquastore glass-fused-to-steel tanks were selected due to their quick installation time, competitive price, porcelain enamel coating that doesn’t require re-coating, and the lowest maintenance requirements compared to welded steel tanks being considered.
“The Beetham Water Recycling Plant is the Caribbean’s largest water reuse project, and Florida Aquastore is proud to be a part of it,” said Matt Whelchel, Florida-Aquastore president. “We are pleased to have installed our Aquastore glass-fused-to-steel tank system that will provide the owner - The National Gas Company - and the Point Lisas Industrial Estate with a low-maintenance storage solution for decades to come.”
The company’s cathodic protection system consists of sacrificial anodes that mitigate corrosion and provide protection to internal submerged surfaces of the tank. The cathodic protection system is incorporated into the Aquastore tank’s warranty. The system is simple, reliable and requires only minimum inspection and maintenance.
Glass-fused-to-steel is expandable; has fast construction; provides low total lifecycle cost along with low maintenance requirements over the tank life; offers specific tank designs, options and accessories to meet customer needs; is available in diameters from 11 feet (3.3 m) to 204 feet (62.2 m); and has a capacity from 20,000 gallons (75 m3) to over 6 million gallons (22,700 m3).
Aquastore tank designs incorporate recognized standards, assuring high-quality and long-lasting municipal and industrial service liquid storage tanks. Materials are carefully selected and inspected for conformance to rigid specifications. Likewise, CST manufactures tanks in an ISO-9001:2008 certified facility.
