CHARLOTTE, NC, Feb. 3, 2005 -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities (CMU) announces selection of the joint venture partnership of ARCADIS and EMA Inc. to provide Geographic Information System (GIS) consulting and system data collection and conversion services as part of a pilot study. CMU is the largest public water/wastewater utility in the Carolinas.
EMA's role includes using a business-driven approach for development of a GIS system design that meets CMU's business objectives. This approach applies expertise and proven methodologies in business process change to design new, improved processes that include the use of GIS data and technology. ARCADIS staff will provide GIS data collection and conversion services. This includes development of data conversion specifications, accuracy requirements, and data quality assurance criteria.
