Feb. 16, 2015 -- The U.S. Water Alliance (USWA) has officially announced that it is seeking applicants for the position of president and chief executive officer to lead the organization's staff and board of directors.
Reporting to the board, the new president and CEO will oversee USWA's overall strategic direction and operations. Further, he or she will be responsible for managing staff and contractors; supervising board relations, organizational planning and leadership; administering program development and management; and executing the organization's mission outlined in its strategic plan.
Based in Washington, DC. the responsibilities and duties of the position encompass: leadership and management; fundraising and communications; and planning and new business and will focus on propelling USWA into a new era of "one water" sustainability and value.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to USWA's mission and have proven experience in leading organizations or agencies; working with a board of directors or similar governance body; and communicating effectively in a variety of media and venues. The position also requires frequent, independent travel to locations around the country.
With regard to compensation, USWA's board will negotiate an employment contract with the successful applicant. Compensation will be based upon his or her experience and qualifications in line with the organization's budget. Paid vacation, health care and other benefits will be included in a final compensation package.
