Accurate tank level management

GF Piping Systems (GF) has expanded its automation product line with two new Level Transmitters, incorporating advanced radar sensing technology designed for high accuracy tank level measurement in a wide range of chemical processing and water treatment applications. The addition of radar technology to the company’s existing ultrasonic and hydrostatic sensors now provides three different level measurement technologies. Radar Level Transmitter Type 2290 features non-contact radar technology. Available in a variety of different materials, the 2290’s tank mapping function can block out objects like internal pipes, welding seams, stirrers or heating elements. Radar Level Transmitter Type 2291 is designed for continuous level measuring of conductive or non-conductive liquids, pulps or solids and maintains consistent measurement under tough conditions. www.gfpiping.com

New RO modules from Hydranautics

Membrane technology company Hydranautics has launched two spiral wound reverse osmosis membranes for industrial and demanding municipal water and re-use applications.

First up is the CPA7-LD, the company’s sixth generation membrane, offering 99.8% salt rejection and 52 m3/day permeate flow. Meanwhile, the second membrane - ESPA2-LD MAX - offers a 440 ft2 membrane area using a 34 mil thick feed spacer, which the company said is a “the first of its kind in the industry”.

Powder coated steel tanks

With the number of water reuse projects being developed, the demand for wastewater storage tanks has increased dramatically. To withstand corrosive wastewater, Superior Tank Co., Inc. offers bolted steel storage tanks featuring premium powder coating. The Scotchkote™ powder coating by 3M™ and is specially formulated for corrosive liquids. Tanks are available in capacities from 10,000 to 3,000,000 gallons and are designed to AWWA standards and local building codes. Custom appurtenances are also offered which are protected by the Scotchkote powder coating. As the tanks are prefabricated and arrive to the job site as a complete kit, tanks assemble in 1/3 of the time and eliminate the need for welding or onsite painting.

RO modules for industrial water

US water treatment company Culligan International has launched an Industrial Water (IW) Reverse Osmosis System membrane system to treat a variety of industrial and commercial water treatment processes. Available for flow requirements from 22 to 200 gallons per minute (GPM) with salinity levels up to 4,500 parts-per-million (PPM), the system is designed for applications such as the pre-treatment for high-purity requirements, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, water jet cutting, potabilization for drinking water, power generation and more.

Culligan said its configurator tool offers nearly 100 different pre-engineered combinations of features to be built into a perfect reverse osmosis application.

Ultra High Porosity Feed Spacers for BWRO

Conwed has launched its new line of Ultra High Porosity™ (UHP) feed spacers for Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) systems. The UHP feed spacers have been designed to help decrease the resistance to liquid flow in BWRO systems with an equivalent water flux rate - the rate at which water permeates a reverse osmosis membrane. These new feed spacers are designed for BWRO spiral wound elements. Conwed said its engineering team focused on the spacers’ porosity ratio to improve water pressure drop. The company believes that modifying the porosity of a feed spacer, just like other features, can have a number of benefits depending on the material and final product application.
