Coraopolis, Penn. Dr. Mick Greenbank from Calgon Carbon Corporation will receive the International Activated Carbon Conference Hall-of-Fame award September 27, 2002, in Pittsburgh, Penn., at a luncheon to honor the new recipient and past award holders. Greenbank will provide a plenary lecture after lunch titled, New Detective Tools for the Activated Carbon Industry. Those honored in prior conferences as Hall-of-Fame awardees are: Dr. Milton Manes, George Tobias, Jonathan C. Cooper, Dr. Amos Turk, Dr. Gordon Culp, and Dr. Mietek Jaroniec.
Greenbank is recognized for his working model for activated carbon, novel carbon characterization equipment, his new adsorption equation, his patents and new activated carbon test methods, and an upcoming book on activated carbon. He also is being honored for his superior teaching skills and ability to explain complex concepts to new Calgon employees and their major clients. Dr. Greenbank is providing this valuable training in sch3duled public PACS courses titled, "Selecting the Best Activated Carbon for a Specific Application." Courses at the client's site can be arranged.
