WATERBURY, CT, September 4, 2002 -- Haestad Methods and Gideon Informatics recently announced a joint venture whereby Gideon Informatics will promote and support Haestad Methods' water resources software and services in the India subcontinent.
By combining engineering excellence with local presence, the Haestad Methods/Gideon Informatics team will penetrate the emerging water resources market throughout India. Both companies are committed to bringing innovative products and services to this nation's water professionals and to strategically expanding the customer base.
With a history of providing India with civil engineering software over the last 12 years, local representation is a natural progression for Haestad Methods. Some of Haestad's key accounts in this area include, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation, and Dalal Consultants and Engineers.
Sheerang Deshpande was chosen by Haestad Methods to head the Indian office based on his knowledge and experience in applying GIS technology in the Indian community. Deshpande previously worked for Nashik Municipal Corporation, Nashik, India as an Executive Engineer, where he developed, designed, and implemented multiple water supply and sewerage systems. He is a graduate in civil engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Pune and a postgraduate in Environmental Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai.
Some of the other team members include Prathmesh Tiwari, a graduate in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Yogesh Tiwari a graduate in mechanical engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Pune.
