Additionally, Wipro confirmed that Thames Water has also realized annualized savings of 30% on the applications supported by Wipro. Thames Water Utilities is the largest water and wastewater Services Company in the UK, with 12 million customers in London and across the Thames Valley.
Wipro Technologies partnered with Thames Water in September 2000, extending Wipro's Global Delivery Model, which features development centers in Reading, UK, and Hyderabad, India, to begin realizing efficiencies for the utilities firm. Wipro manages the Application Support and Maintenance portfolio for Thames in accordance with changing business requirements.
In this role, Wipro provides Thames Water with efficient and high quality service while managing vendor performance and overseeing quality assurance processes for new portfolio applications. Wipro also provides process consultancy to ensure consistency, uniformity, and efficiency within all quality procedures.
Additionally, as a development partner for IT applications, Wipro has been involved in building several business critical applications for Thames Water, including solutions for Customer Network and Field Services, Work Management Systems, Finance and Payroll, Waste Water Operations, Technology Group and Engineering Systems.
