Aurora, Colo., April 11, 2002 -- The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) and 2,754 attendees joined together in Tampa, Fla. to celebrate the 25th anniversary GITA's annual conference.
Held March 17-20, 2002, at the Tampa Convention Center, Annual Conference 25 featured 181 exhibitors, a keynote address by former U.S. Air Force Captain Scott F. O'Grady, and special recognition of GITA conference founder, Hank A. Emery.
The technical program included 20 preconference seminars and 84 technical sessions. Herman Abinette, GIS Business Analyst, Affiliated Computer Services, said, "I've been to a lot of conferences and some of the best talks that I've ever been to were here. For the business that I'm involved with now and the new things that we're doing, the talks were exactly on track. I can't wait to bring my ideas back to my clients."
