XPV Water Partners further expands its portfolio of companies worldwide with an investment to support the merger of Atlas Manufacturing and Screening Systems International.
MONTICELLO, MISS & SLAUGHTER, LA, OCT 17, 2018 -- XPV Water Partners, a growth equity investor focused on making investments in companies related to the treatment and management of the world’s water resources, announced today that it has made a significant investment to support the merger of Atlas Manufacturing and Screening Systems International to create ATLAS-SSI, one of the largest full-service producers of industrial water intake systems in North America. Originally two separate companies, both businesses have been integrated to become a leading provider of highly engineered and manufactured custom raw water intake equipment with one-stop-shopping solutions for customers that will improve process efficiency, reduce costs, and enable regulatory compliance.

Atlas Manufacturing has a 20-year history serving two distinct markets including raw water intake equipment as well as clamshell buckets and grapples for handling bulk material. Screening Systems International Inc. has a 30+-year history as an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of water intake systems for both municipal and industrial markets worldwide. Their primary focus is producing and building traveling water screens, 316b compliant fish screens, bar screens, and trash rakes. Both companies have in-house field service divisions complete with commercial diving teams.

ATLAS-SSI will join XPV’s portfolio with the Company positioned to have greater scale, a wider breadth of capabilities, and additional resources needed for expansion and growth. "This is an exciting and historic day for both companies," said Henry Watson Jr., ATLAS-SSI Executive Vice President. "Our companies have strong ties and have worked in the industrial water business together for decades." Larry Crowell, CEO, added, "I partnered with Henry Watson Sr. 30 years ago before we parted ways to pursue our respective companies' dreams. Now we've come full circle with this merger."

"We were impressed with the operating histories between the two companies and their complimentary nature." stated Khalil Maalouf, Partner at XPV Water Partners. "We are pleased to assist in supporting the merger and helping ATLAS-SSI expand its relationships and offering."
