City of Pontiac stays boil water advisory for one more day

The City of Pontiac has not removed the boil water alert for residents and businesses.

PONTIAC, Mich., Aug. 19, 2003 -- The City of Pontiac has not removed the boil water alert for residents and businesses.

City officials want one more day for test results from water samples. According to DPW & U Director Claudia Filler, samples were taken to ensure no contaminates entered the water system.

The City of Pontiac used ground water from wells to offset the water pressure in case of emergencies. This advisory extension is to make certain public health is no way compromised. The city keeps 12.5 million gallons of water in storage from the City of Detroit.

The Detroit Water Department has given the 'all-clear' Mondayfor all cities that were under the boil water advisory.
