SINGAPORE, July 1, 2011 -- Singapore-based membrane manufacturer Memstar announced it's now ready for mass production of its newly launched TIPS PVDF hollow fiber membrane and related products.

Dr. Ge Hailin, CEO of Memstar Technology, said the new TIPS hollow fiber membrane will greatly improve the performance and efficiency of PVDF hollow fiber membranes widely used in water and wastewater treatment applications.

According to the company, the TIPS membrane fiber has stronger mechanical strength than conventional NIPS fiber (4-6 times stronger), stronger alkali resistance (up to 2% NaOH), stronger anti-oxidation/ozone resistance and a longer service life.

With the new TIPS PVDF hollow fiber membrane, Memstar expects to strengthen its position as an international UF/MF membrane manufacturer and its ability to compete for large international water and wastewater projects.
