CLEVELAND, OH, Apr. 21, 2011 -- Oil skimming technology company Abanaki Corporation is acknowledging Earth Day 2011 with special initiative to benefit a drinking water charity.
Beginning on Earth Day through May 31, 2011 charity: water will receive a monetary donation of $1 per oil skimmer and oil skimmer belt sold.
Since 2006, charity: water, a non-profit organization, has been working to bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. Statistics reveal that there are a billion people living without clean drinking water. That equates to 1 in 8 people in our world who do not have one of the most basic human needs readily available.

On average, $20 can provide one person with access to a clean water project. At the end of 2009, charity: water served its first one million people and they are expanding to meet growing demands.
"At Abanaki, we are passionate about clean water, and we hope this campaign will make our customers feel good about their role in making the earth a cleaner, healthier place for everyone. Beyond making oil skimmers, we also support the environment with a strong company recycling program. Our motto is 'clean our world' and we truly believe in that," said Tom Hobson, President of Abanaki Corporation.
