• Acquisition broadens service capabilities in Central and Eastern Europe
WARSAW, Poland, March 10, 2008 -- CDM, the global consulting, engineering, construction, and operations firm, announces the acquisition of the Polish environmental project design company CTBK Ekotechnika, headquartered in Warsaw. CTBK, established in 1951, provides a full range of services including feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed design, and contract supervision to a broad set of public and private clients in Poland, throughout the Central European region, and in the Middle East. Its core business sectors include water and wastewater facilities and infrastructure, power generating plants, hospitals, and other public buildings, as well as automation and control.
CTBK will continue to operate in its central European markets as CTBK Ekotechnika, with 100-percent ownership by CDM Sp. z o.o., CDM's registered entity in Poland.
The acquisition further enhances CDM's operations in Europe, which now include 20 offices in Ireland, Germany, and Poland. CDM is active throughout Europe on water resources planning and management projects related to implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive, urban planning and development, engineering for water and transportation infrastructure, geotechnical engineering, and environmental remediation.
According to Christopher V. Oot, P.E., president of CDM's International Services Group, "The acquisition of CTBK, together with our existing operations at Warsaw-based Proeko CDM, further expands the portfolio of services we offer throughout Europe and gives CDM greater capacity to meet client needs in Central and Eastern Europe across all phases of infrastructure project implementation."

CTBK's staff number more than 25 employees. Clients include municipal and private utilities, hospitals, and major international commercial and residential development companies.
