ThermoEnergy Corporation awarded multimillion-dollar water project by URS

URS Corporation has awarded ThermoEnergy's CASTion subsidiary a multimillion dollar contract to be the provider of a critical system for the treatment of raw water production for the US strategic base Camp Lemioner in Djibouti Africa...

LITTLE ROCK, AR, Dec. 16, 2008 -- ThermoEnergy Corporation an integrated technologies company engaged in the worldwide commercialization of patented and/or proprietary municipal and industrial wastewater treatment and power generation technologies, announced that URS Corporation has awarded ThermoEnergy's CASTion subsidiary a multi million contract. URS Corporation is a leading international engineering and construction company and a top 100 Department of Defense Contractors with a market cap of over $3 Billion.

URS announced that CASTion has been selected to be the provider of a critical system for the treatment of raw water production for the US strategic base Camp Lemioner in Djibouti, on the horn of Africa and bordered by Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia. CASTion was selected for its outstanding quality and knowledge of water treatment through a competitive selection process. CASTion was determined to have the optimum solution to the water production needs of this vital anti-terrorism base for the next 15 years.

The water production system consists of a reverse osmosis water treatment train with chlorination that will be supplied by CASTion Corporation to supply potable water and fire protection to buildings and living units within a large facility. The system once operational will supply over 400,000 gallons of potable water per day that meets EPA drinking water standards in the most economical fashion and with minimal energy consumption.
